Comment: We recently bought 2 new pc's for the office running XP. All of our pre-existing clients are either running 95 or 98, and server is win 2000. The NIC setting on the server is Auto-detect. Our company software is DOS based, all of the workstations can use it except the two XPs run very slowly. I have tried changing the NIC settings on the workstation to full & half duplex, 10 & 100 mbps and auto detect. The software developer swears that they have their software running on an XP machine and it works fine. Which leads me to believe that there are one of two issues here. 1. is that there is some conflict between XP and 2000 or 2.When we purchased these workstations by mistake they came with XP Home and we had to install the upgrade to Professional. The install went flawless but maybe there is an issue with running the upgrade from the home version. I gave as much background info as I can think of, your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
