XP cannot connect to W98 printer

I have 3 W98SE and 3 XP (1 home, 2 pro) machines on one network. The XP machines cannot connect to a printer on one of the W98 machines. Other W98 machines CAN connect. When I browse the network to install it on an XP machine over the network, I see the W98 computer and the printer, but I get the message "Windows cannot connect to the printer". Any ideas?

Install the printer locally in XP. Change the port from lpt1 to a network port like \\98 machine name\printer share name.
See if you can print then. Otherwise you need to examin your network setup on xp.

what you do is install additional drivers in the windows 98 printer option to which printer is attached, add up drivers for win2k and winxp. and you would easily be able to connect. make sure you install the network printer in xp. ok
