This has probably been addressed here, but I'm a new XP user and so bear with me.
I have 4 machines on my network, using TCP/IP with ICS via modem on one machine. I have one each of XP, ME, W98se and W98. My new XP machine set everything up fine for the most part; I can browse the XP box from the other machines, I can access the internet from the XP computer via ICS, but I can only access two of the other three computers from the XP unit. I have the hard drives password-protected, but when I try to access the W98 machine, it tries to log me on as a guest (the box is kinda greyed out) and after typing the appropriate password, it won't do anything. I can't log on to that computer at all. I CAN ping it, and find it using the "find computer" feature, and it shows up fine: I just can't access the "C" drive. I can print to that computer though.
I'm baffled. Any help welcome, and thanks.

Easy, add all the other win9x network logon usernames and passwords to XPs user list.
PS: Works with NT3.x-4 and Win2000 as well
PPS: I don't use Xpensive Products

Pretent you are adding a member of your family to the user list for XP you need to do the same for your networked Win9x boxes.

??? So whatever log-in name/password I use to access my network needs to be added to as a user to the XP machine? Then why am I able to access the drives on the other computers; just not that one particular W98 set-up?
Thanks anyway for taking the time to respond.
