How do I go about setting up a network by having the win XP as the primary? I am connecting the xp with everything. Printer, scanner, DSL.
I have already installed the ethernet card in the pc with win98, I have gotten a 5 port hub and now I need to install the ethernet card on the pc w/ XP. My only concern is that I have a SCSI card, which is not in use and I need to remove in order to have a slot available. Would that create a problem? After that how do I go about configuring?
I thank in advance for the help.

if nothing is plugged into the scsi card, then nope, just remove it, and put the NIC in its place, XP can handel that just fine. Then connect both computers to the HUB, and run the xp network wizard, found in
control panel>network connections>Set up a home or small office network (option to the right of screen)
thats it. the rest is point and click, if your xp machine is the one with the internet, and you want it make it "primary", then in the wizard make sure u select the "other computers on the network connect to the internet thru this computer" option. follow all these instructions, as i have done the same thing, and it worx fine.
