Here's hoping you can help. I currently have a laptop computer running WinXPSP2 with a USB ADSL link to the internet. I have a PCMCIA adaptor card plugged in which gives me USB2.0 ports on the laptop. Into one of these, I have a 11b+g WiFi adaptor (ZD1121b chipset). I then have an XDA Exec (JASJAR, HTC Universal etc) which has built in WiFi. When my (local) neighbour bought himself a WiFi ADSL modem, I could connect to the internet no problems, he has now encrypted the link (as he should) and as such, my XDA will no longer connect (I don't have the key, plus it is illegal). What I want to be able to do is to share my internet connection from my laptop, through the WiFi USB dongle to my XDA. I can establish an 'infrastucture' link to my XDA from the laptop, I have internet sharing turned on, but I can't browse the internet through my XDA. I am also running McAfee Firewall. This has been sest to allow all IP addresses in the range 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255 My USB adaptor is reporting as 192.168.0.1 and my XDA is reporting as 192.168.0.2
I've googled everywhere but can't seem to get the internet to share. Can anyone help please?
