I am running WRT54GS with standard firmware v3.37.2. One of my flatmates is uploading unreasonably with bitcomet, causing the net to be slow during the evenings for everyone.
Any way I can limit her upload with this firmware? Or do I have to go to a 3rd party? If so which is best to handle this as freeware?

You're not gonna limit uploads with that firmware or any that I know of. The only way I can think of is to install a linux server between your network and the internet. Or insist that she get her own internet connection or be considerate to others.
Maybe someone else will come along with a better solution.

Another thing to think about is this. The software she is using that monopolizes your internet connection may have a setting you can change so as to throttle back how much data flows from that program to the internet.
Hope this helps

install VNC on her machine and hide it, then change her settings when she is not looking - underhanded - but it will work
To hide taskbar icons r-click on the start bar then goto TaskBar -> Customise

I've already stressed out over trying to get people to limit the program and shown them, but she thinks she can get away with it, sooo annoying. If I block her completely she just goes and resets the router, I've tried blocking the listening port on tcp and udp but doesn't look like its working cus i keep seeing it in the log.
What's this VNC all about?

Back at Uni I had the same problem with a bloke so faked a letter from the telephone company saying he would be summonded to court if he did not stop using P2P software... it was a final resort but worked a treat! Wish I had known about VNC back then though.

Sounds like just about anything you do will (eventually) result in the flatmate spraying chocolate whipped topping under your pillow one night. I'd seriously consider giving the flatmate the boot if she doesn't listen to sweet reason.
