I have been asked to setup a network at work; there will be
around 100 stations and 10 printers. The business is
expanding and over the next few years these figures will
increase. To keep performance up on the network, how many
servers should I be running?

Dear jo, your question is quite general? I think the performance of your network is depending on the character of your business. And the ammount of servers is depending on the speed of expanding of your LAN.

What are you going to be running on your network....Exchange, SQL, etc? Highend app's like the aforementioned could use up a lot of resources (especially SQL or any database program) so if you're going to be running any of those, it might be a good idea to plan on one server per highend app.

Also, you will likely want at least 2 DC's for redundancy.

If you have remote sites, you'll want one server (minimum) per site with a copy of the GC on it so users can authenticate to their local server...saving on WAN bandwidth usage and decreasing login times.
