Just recently, at our business, we have changed phone/internet providers and, as a added bonus, they allowed to us to use their Netopia router free of charge. Previously, before the new router was installed, we had a workgroup set-up with all computers viewing shared folders and mapping network drives was not a problem. However, after connecting this new router we have had difficulties viewing networked computers' shared documents and mapping new drives...but old mapped network drives still work fine. We can also still print using an old computer as a print server...but we can not get any new computers to map the print server.
What I am not sure about is if the problem is with the new router or with the computers? We have not changed any of the settings on the computers but we are now having these difficulties (besides being assigned new ip address form the DHCP router). I called the new internet provider and he says is not a problem with the router, but I still have doubts. Also within --run/cmd/net view-- it will not discover any of the other computers. Anyone have any ideas where I should start? Thanks.

Since you are on the LAN side routing doesn't come into play.
Its with the computers. I will bet you have a different subnet with the new router and the xp firewall has not been updated to include the new subnet and exclude the old one.
Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

your print server should have a static IP because if your trying to print to a print server, and DHCP has assigned it a different IP, your not going to be able to hit that printer because either that IP is not in use anymore, or another workstation has that IP
to fix the subnet problem, see what subnet mask your router uses and what class of IP addresses it is using.
if it using a 192.168.x.x scope, your subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0, if its using a 10.x.x.x scope your subnet mask should be 255.0.0.0, and if it is using a 172.16.x.x your mask should be 255.255.0.0
good luck, post back

Appreciate the help guys...it looks like everything is back in working order! Thanks for taking the time to resond back!
