Hi all

Computer A windows XP professional
Computer B windows XP professional
Computer C windows XP home

First, all computers can ping each other with no problems at all.

Computer B and computer C can see each other in network window as well as transfer and share files and folders. No problem there.
Now Computer A can both computer B and computer C as well as itself in network window.
It can transfere files to both computer B and computer C and take files from them.
Now the problem is when computer B and Computer C try to access the Computer A the following message appears:
"\\"computer name" is not accessable. You might not have permision to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
The network path was not found."
Now I should point out that Computer B and Computer C can acctually see the computer A in the network window but the message appears when they try to access it.
I wen through the settings and can't seem to figure out why it doesn't work. Each computer only has one user Administrator.
Someone please help me resolve this problem.
I tried to use the home network setup wizard but it doesn't work eaither. Any help would be greately appriciated.

Thank you

The only thing I can really think of off of the top of my head is for you to mess around with computer managment (you can see all of the shares and users access etc..)

control panel->administrator tools->computer management

The problem probably has to do with your network's master browser election process. I've found that window's machines are quite finicky about which computer is the master browser.

One solution is, to go to START > type in 'regedit' (without the quotes of course)

Your registry editor should pop up.

Follow this path

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters

Then, under the setting MaintainServerList change auto to no.

Under the setting IsDomainMaster change to FALSE if it isn't already.

Now quit the Registry Editor. The new election process should take approximately 40 minuets.
