I just baught the WMP54G adapter for my desktop. Everything went well. Now when it is connected, it will always disconnect me after a few minutes, than reconnect me again after a few seconds. This doesn't stop. Theres is no 2.4 GHZ phone involved either. I've tried just about everything I can think of. How can I make it not disconnect than reconnect me? Thanks!

I had a similar problem with a Belkin wireless...although it was 802.11b similar situaition and frequency. I was able to determine that the interference was coming from my neighbors wireless APs.
Pretty much all of the wireless cards continuously hunt for signals. My final resolution that seemed to calm it down was:
1.) to get a wireless card and a wireless AP that you can manually configure the channel setting (figured out what channels my neighbors where using and used a different one and forced it to stay there...but you have to set it on both the card and the access point), and
2.) turn off WinXPs automatic wireless association...after setting up #1 above, it turned out the Win XPs wireless config was overriding my settings (if you go to wireless network connection properties in WinXP there is a tab labled wireless connections, and at the top a box that is checked marked by default for WinXP to make the connections, unmark that to gain control.
Hope it helps.
