Hello,

I recently purchased a Linksys WMP54G Wireless G PCI Adapter for my desktop computer. I usually see about 15 wireless networks when I use my HP Pavilion DV2 laptop, but after installing the wireless desktop card and installing it, I was only able to see one available network. The network I'm trying to connect to should be there... in fact, I'm using it right now for internet access so I can ask this question.

Did I purchase the wrong type of wireless desktop card? Anything I can do to connect to the network? I'm literally looking at all of the properties for the network I want to connect to via selecting properties from the wireless network list on my laptop.

Thanks and sorry for the n00b question.

Where have you put desktop computer.
Under the desk, maybe where heating for your room is mounted?
Are there any power supplies in the environment of the wireless network card, you're using in the desktop computer?
To verify, whether the card is bad or the location is bad, simply put your laptop to that location and check, how many wireless networks will be found.
