WK2 DC stuck as domain controller!?

Hi there, As a result of some hard drive troubles I have just had to re-insall windows 2000 server main domain root on my main server. The other servers which where also setup in the domain tree as domain contolers (I think) need Active directory removed and installed; I guess to make them work with the main server, but as it is not the original setup on the main controller, when I try to uninsall AD, i get a message that the server was not found on the main domain controller. How do I get it uninsalled whn I havwe this problem please? Do I have to compleatly re-insall those server too?! Many thnaks for any advice If It's not broken, Don't fix it!
