I want to share a connection between two houses. I have a D-Link DIR-655 Xtreme N Router and I want to share it with my Mother four house away. I get the signal all the way to her driveway and loose it when I open her door.
What should I do?

Buy a a new wireless card woulfd it be more powerful.

Change the antenna to D-Link 7dBi Omni Directional Antenna ?

The signal is on the first floor and my signal upstairs also says it is poor. I paid for a better router and it does not seem to be working even in the house like I expected.

Any help would be greatly appreicated

The study of wave propagation is fairly complex. Basically there are ways to improve both transmission and reception. Simply moving the antenna might be enough. Moving where the router is may help also. Putting the router against a window may help if the window isn't a low-e window. Low-e's will stop transmission. Some metal window frames might help or hurt transmission.

I suggest that you use a directional antenna on both ends if simple solutions fail.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.
