I just bought online a Belkin My Essentials Wireless 802.11g usb adapter for my laptop. Only to realize the broadband router we have it Wireless-B. Will I have a problem when I get my adapter in the mail? Or will it work with wireless-b?

No, you will not have a problem. 802.11g is backwards compatible with 802.11b.
