Wireless works only when Ethernet connected

January 23, 2011 at 20:07:57
Specs: Windows 7, Intel Core i5, 4G Ram
I have a Netcomm NB9WMAXXn router and 3 laptops i want to connect to it wirelessly. The problem is that the iwreless internet connection slows down and eventually drops out after about 30m unless one of the laptops remains connected via Ethernet to the router. The wireless laptops will remain connected to the router but the internet connection will fail. The laptop with Ethernet connection retains a very good connection so i'm thinking this is an issue with my router or it's configuration.
Any help would be appreciated

Maybe there is a problem with the router.
When the problem comes up, did you try to reboot the computer, that is connected wirelessly, to check, whether the connection is working after reboot.
In that case, the problem is located at your computer, connected wirelessly.
If it's still not working after reboot, the problem is most likely at the router.
Mostly, a firmware update helps on that.
Have you checked for the latest firmware for your wireless router?
