I have a dsl at my business and would like to be able to access it wireless at my house, which has a basement and a ground floor. There is an empty lot between the store and the house. At the business we already have a Netgear WGR614 router, but the signal just barely reaches the house. I have already tried a new antenna and I have moved the router to the wall closest to the house. I am working on a pretty tight budget $50 is about what I could spend. I think I have a d-link router somewhere that I might be able to use. I just don't know the best way to accomplish this.

I highly recommend the solutions shown on this site: http://www.freeantennas.com/ The parabolic reflectors are the cheapest solutions available and they work as well (if not better) than the cantennas. I've made them just using cardboard from shipping boxes, aluminum from cut up soda or beer cans, and superglue. The idea would be to have one on a fixed antenna at your work place and another on a fixed antenna at home. Perhaps get a friend or family member to help with "tuning" the two for the best connection.
