I have set up a wireless connection with wep
firstly i have a linksys wag 354g wireless modem router
i have hard wired it to my main computer and have a wireless connection with a laptop and wap security (yes i know ) for default key i have clicked one and under there are 4 keys number one key is used for the laptop so if i set up another wireless computer do i use the number 2 key and if so do i have to change anything else..

IMHO it is always worth switching off WEP/any security and try connecting, only when you have a working connection do I switch on WEP etc.
Works for me.
If you are nervous you can always disconnect your Broadband connection until you switch WEP on after making a connection. That is the biggest fool thing we have ever done. The Atomic bomb will never go off, and I speak as an expert in explosives.

Ooops! should have read your post more carefully. my previous post still valid but you need the SAME key for all your wireless connections. Normally select WEP and HEX and the key is normally written on the lable underneath your wireless router.Just enter that on both and it should work.

why does it give you 4 keys is it not one for each computer..
also i set up my sons laptop with the authentication set at auto and when i change it to share it does not let him connect unless i have to change it in his laptop as well..

also my son managed to set up his psp through his laptop wireless connection without me giving him the key..
