Hi all, attempting to install a wireless router and share a broadband connection. My modem is a Motorola surfboard. Modem works fine using the USB connection. Problem begins with router(linksys) not having USB but ethernet cable/connector. Cannot get my motherboards (asus A7N-8XE) ethernet ports to work. The modem has both USB and ethernet connectivity. I removed the USB driver and tried to reinstall the modem using the ethernet connection but no go. Says not connected to modem. Tried to install an old netgear nic but no go there also. Since having tried this I now keep getting new hardware found for a PCI ethernet controller on bootup. No nic installed in slots. Any help appreciated. Thnx, Karl

Try puting Nic in differ slot, also try changeing the option, if you have a bios option for Plug and Play OS. or None Plug and Play OS. I have had a couple that changeing the Plug and Play OS. option was the only think that would get the NIC to work.
