Product: Linksys BEFW1154
Comment:

Greetings.
I bought a Linksys BEFW1154 wireless B router about a year ago and it worked flawlessly for about a month. However, after a month I noticed that my computers would start to drop both wired and wireless connections through it and I was unable to log into it via the 192.168.1.1.

As it stands right now, when I unplug the router from the wall and plug it back in, it works fine for about half a minute and then the symptoms resurface where my computers are unable to communicate with the router. I doubt it is a problem with the OS as I experience the same problem under WinXP, 2000, and Linux.
Furthermore, I even updated the router's firmware, but that didn't help.

Again, the failure to communicate with the router occurs under both wired and wireless modes.

In all probability the router is dead, but I was hoping that someone might have come accross similar problems and might have a solution. I would hate to have to bury the router.

Any help that could be offered would be greatly appreciated!

It probably is in fact dead, but I've seen similar results where a machine or two had a virus on it. They were sending so much traffic that they overloaded some kind of buffer in the router. Try runnng scans on everything and doing some experiments with only connecting certain computers to see if you can pin it down. If not, it's probably a bad router.
