D-Link, Linksys and Netgear. I have never had a problem with the 2 DLinks I have had.

BTW, i know gaming is bad with most wireless routers, but i don't know if it is better that i wire the gamming machine to the wireless router.

Any model which does G will be fine. They are all a lot more a like than different.

I have a DI 524, but I am sure there are more current models.

Most have 4 ports so you can connect the gaming machine with cat5E cable.

Here's a pretty good site for comparing model features.
http://www.ozcableguy.com/quickref.html

I have a netgear FWG114P with inbuilt USB printserver. It basically auto detected the settings from the cablemodem and has a very user-friendly web based admin GUI. I also have a D-Link DI524 which is my backup if the netgear lets me down. It requires manual setting of internet details and since my ISP provides absolutely no support for networking, It isn't as simple to use as the netgear.

I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
