I am trying to share internet with 2 other computers on a satalite internet connection.

The problem is, the router will not connect to the satalite, the led under "WAN" will light up and flash for a second but then it will disconnect.

I have a 802.11g/2.4GHz Wireless Router.

The satelite connection is based on ethernet not usb. There is no "cable modem" or DSL modem. A Cat5e ethernet cord runs down from the satelite "radio" to a AC adapter then to the computer's ethernet port. I plug that cord into the WAN jack and nothing happens.

Also the 2 other computers will not find the wireless cards (DWL-6510 AirPlus G). I install the software then install the card but when Windows 98 (and WinXP) will load up, they fail to recognize them.

Is there any way to get this wireless internet to work?

Make sure the wireless cards in your PCs will accept g base.. cus some of them will only take b base.
Have you tried to install the hardware then the software???
Is it XP home or pro?? also wouldnt advise to use 98 to do wireless networking.

Uninstall the drivers that you have put loaded into the 2 pcs for the pc cards. Try using the windows utility in control panel to "add/remove hardware". Check to see if windows can find the new hardware. Be sure to connect the hardware before you start the process. Also make sure the cards are functional if that.

As what the person before me advised, I would not use 98 for networking. Go with XP if you can, its alot more secure and easier to set up with networking.

I tried the software before I installed the hardware and also tried the software after the hardware.

I think I will have to get different wireless cards.

I got the router to connect by connecting the ethernet cord from the satelite into one of the four ethernet jacks ment for the computers, now I think I am now using the router as a hub. Please currect me if I'm wrong.
