I am having a problem with my AirLink Super G Wireless Router. I have trouble logging into some secured websites. I can access the site but when i enter my user name and password it stalls while loading and nothing comes up. If i right click, open new window on the login link with my user name and pass word already entered, it will sometimes load up but it takes a while as well.
I have a wireless laptop that i have access to the internet through the router and i have no problems logging into the secured websites that i have problems with on my desktop computer.
If i connect my modem directly to my desktop PC, i have no problems logging into the secured sites.
Anyone know what the problems is?
Here is my router config:
Internet Setup-----Dynamic PPPoE DHCP Server-----Enabled Block WAN Ping---Disabled SPI Mode----Disabled IPSec Passthrough---Enabled L2TP Passthrough---Disabled PPTP Passthrough---Enabled
*I will provide more info on my router config if needed*
If the laptop can access https sites and the desktop pc can't and both are connected to the same Router, I would say the problem isn't located at the router.
At the PC: open a dos box and try the ipconfig /all
and check, whether there is more than one network card listed. If so, check. whether there is more than one standard gateway configured. There should ony exist one standard gateway, independent of how many network cards are installed.
If you get your IP automatically via DHCP form your router, the standard gateway points to your router. The router also acts as a DNS server so it's quite normal, that the IP of the DNS server also points to your routers IP address.
What you can do is, start the Task Manager and figure out which processes are running and whether it is ok that all the listed processes are running. If there are any suspect processes, try to stop them and try to access HTTPS sites.
Also check your hosts file for additional entries. You can compare the Hosts file of your PC with the Hosts file of your Laptop.
Hi, I had the same problem some time ago. Solved it by using an extension (about .75m) the, plugging the (don't know what you call it) remote from the USB port and above the computer case. Hope that works for you, Regards, W.
