Hi guys

I've just set up my wireless router system and it's working fine.

I've encoded a 128bit WPA as well.

Questions:

1. How can I check to see how many users are accessing my wireless network?

2. How can I check the security of my wireless network? I see that my wireless network can be displayed on any computer with wireless facility within the whole radius of our apartment blocks!!!

3. Any other wireless connection tips?

Thanks in advance.

1st change your ssid and don't broadcast it. Then change te WPA. Then limit the devices that can connect by their MAC address. That should keep the unauthorized people out. And change your password.

>> Fred,

when I don't broadcast my wireless network, my computer can't even find the wireless network.

I can use the ethernet cable to get access, but that's all.

That's the advantage of not broadcasting your ssid. If you can't see it, then most likely someone can't guest it. You can manually enter your ssid in your wireless adapters config utility. This is probably the same utility that you use to set the WEP.

Hi Wizard-Fred,

So if I don't broadcast my SSID, how does my computer detect it if it isn't broadcast?

I've set the access panel to not broadcast, and then I found I couldn't post a message on this board exc. through ethernet cable to the router/modem.

I'm guessing I haven't mastered the settings control and I can't figure it out from the poor instructions I have on cd-rom...
