I am trying to setup a lab of laptops with built-in wireless cards (LAN-Express IEEE 802.11 adapters) to connect automatically to a Cisco Aironet 1100 wireless access point. Stupid Windows XP will not connect to an open wireless network, it seems, and it always displays a warning about connecting to an unsecure network. You have to check the box that says "Allow me to connect to unsecure networks" and then click connect. This wouldn't be so bad, but it does it every single time and never saves the settings. I have also tried using encryption and had other problems. Is there any way to disable this stupid feature of Windows XP? My problem is, XP won't connect to the wireless network until you login and click throught the prompts. These laptops are joined to the domain and I need the users to be able to login to the domain. And they can't login if the wireless isn't initialized! Help!
