Hi,

I have a home network that uses a wireless router. I have 3 different laptops that need connecting to the router for internet access. Unfortunately, just lately i had to add the 3rd laptop for the first time which is when things went pair shaped!

Each time i log on to my Vista laptop i have to go to the wireless icon in the tray and right-click > properties. Then in the list it says i am connected to the home wireless network, but with limited access. I right-click my wireless network in the list and go to Properties. I then change over to the security tab and enter my passphrase and click OK. An IP is 'aquired' and i am all sorted. The next time i log onto my laptop i have to do it all over again as it's not remembering the change!

What can the problem be?

I'm using WPA2 with AES.

Thanks.

It sounds like the key isn't set properly. Do you see anything that says remember this connection or connect automatically?

No nothing like that anywhere i have looked. Could it be something to do with Public or Private network setting?

I don't think it has anything to do with public or private. Boot the laptop, make the connection again then give the wireless NIC a static IP address. Reboot & see what happens.

You can also try to set MAC address filtering in your router. Add the MAC address of the wireless NIC.

That's for timeout but it may help. ^^
