I'll keep this as simple as I can. I share an apartment that has an ADSL line running into it. That lines runs into a router which splits it four ways, running an ethernet cable into each of our rooms. Everyone connects physically.
I have an Apple Airport Express and would like to utilize it. So the question is, can I? I have tried connecting it into the cable in my particular room, but get yellow blinking.
In order connect into this ADSL line we each type in our acct username and password; it's the same for all of us.

The medium is of little issue. What you need is an ability to correctly configure each device (tcp/ip wise). For that you may need the manual for both the router and the airport.
I never suggest wireless unless no wired solution exists.
You may be able to purchase a soho wireless internet router that not only will work but can be configured to both do the connection and provide greater security to your lan.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.
