I have a pci and a pcmcia card to connect my laptop with my desktop (both from the same manafacter). both cards seem to install ok, both computers use xp. however they dont see each other. however if i use the pcmcia card with a laptop with win98 it works fine. The latest drivers from the surpliers www.origo2000.com web site don't work (i.e. don't install). I purchased the cards from ebuyer.com (uk) and they sell them under their name. People in the reviews of the cards talk of the software being crap yet get the cards working with xp. Anybody got any ideas? please i really need to get these cards working!

they are in the same workgroup. however it not really relavent as the two cards are unable to see each other i.e. "wireless connection unavailable"

I have been trying to set up a wireless computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network (where no wireless access point is used) and I have been having problems. It may be trivial, but at one point the hardware radio switch was off, so the network was unavailable (to switch this on I had to key Fn & F2 together). However, whilst I managed to setup the wireless network between two laptops under Windows XP Pro and get a strong signal, the two laptops with identical wireless PCI cards still don't see each other, even though they are in the same workgroup and both set to sharing mode. I get an error message "workgroup is not accessible. you might not have permission to use this network resource". I am not sure if we have the same problem, but I was hoping my contribution might help tackling everyone's problem.
