Wireless networks found but will not connect

May 13, 2010 at 18:28:55
Specs: Windows XP
My netbook recently lost internet connectivity. This is not a router problem; all other wireless devices in my household are able to connect fine, and my ip number is saved on my Base Management System Tool. When I hook up the wire coming out of my phone jack to my netbook, I connect to the Local Area Connection and i am able to access the internet; but i am still unable to connect to my preferred network. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and I have ran system scans for viruses. I have an Atheron AR5B95 wireless network adapter, if that helps.

Maybe you keyed in the wrong wireless pre-shared key if it's secure wireless network. Try to configure wireless router with no wireless encryption (open network) and test to connect again. Here are some wireless network troubleshooting tips, feel free to have a look.
