I am trying to wireless network a Win XP machine and a Win 98 machine. THe XP Pc has a cable modem I am trying to share. My problem is the computers can't see each other on the network. I am using Netgear USB wireless adapters. I am trying to set up a peer to peer network (2 computers only). I assigned individual IP addresses. They have same work group name. I have run out of ideas.
make sure both cards r set to the same peer to peer mode, some cards come with a utility, for instance linksys wireless cards, to set to peer to peer, you set them both to adhoc or 802.11, do your cards have something similar also make sure they have the same ssid not workgroup, but every wireless network must have the same ssid u can think of it a workgroup but its only for the wireless cards.
