I know that I need a wireless network router, which will hook into my DSL modem and my PC - the question i have is what kind of Wireless PC card I can get for my Mac laptop that will that will work in this manner.
Ok, not seem naive, but if that is the case, then how come just about every card that I have seen says for Windows? None of them list Mac...

Most standard PC cards will work in either PC's or Mac's. The problem is finding the drivers for the Mac.
I think the reason that you only see Windows is that the makers are so afraid that the dumb Windows users would see Mac on the box and skip it. Most compatible devices has Mac compatitibility mentioned in the small print.
Most electrical/mechanical interface standards are standard. Its the software that interfaces with the standard that is dependent upon the cpu or OS. Since the Mac is not as popular it is not written for. Also there is a snob factor by Mac accessory manufacturers. They price options higher than their pc equivalents.
