OS: Windows 2000 SP4
Product: Zyxel Zyair b-300 pci adapter wireless 802.11b high security
Subcategory: Wireless
Comment:

I recently put a Zyair B-300 card in a Windows 2000 machine. It connects to my temporary unsecured network just fine. The trouble is that, where this computer is going is a place that has WEP encryption. I have no idea where I can enter in WEP information for this connection. It is nowhere to be found in the properties of the connection itself, and Zyxel doesnt seem to have a specific utility program for this device. Thanks for any help in advance!

I stole this.

How to Configure your Wireless Card.

1.Click Start
2.Select Settings
3.Select Network and Dial-up Connections
4.Find your wireless connection icon and right-click on it.
5.Select Properties to open the Local Area Connection (wireless card) window.
6.Under the general tab, find the Connect Using box.
7.Click the Configure button.
8.Select the Wireless Network tab.
9.Under Network name (SSID), Enter the new SSID that the help desk gave you.
10.Operating Mode - Select Infrastructure (connect to access point)
11.Security = Click the Security button.
12.Put dot in Use WEP key (10 of 10 hexadecimal digits - Use numbers 0-9 and letters A-F).
13.In the Key 1: text box, enter the WEP key the help desk gave you. (Some cards will have you enter the WEP key twice. There are no space between the WEP characters).
14.Click OK to close all windows and reboot

yea, unfortunately most of those settings didn't exist on this computer. turned out i had to go into service and turn on windows configuration. if that was turned off, i could only connect to unsecured networks, but with it on, it adds an authentication tab to my connection properties.
