I have been asked to research installing a network for someone, when i set up the initial wireless router, i may have problem with how far the signal reaches. what would be the best router and any other additional items to use? i've dealt with a small wireless network but nothing that would require something more that just the std router itself. price matters. thanks

If you feel Wireless Coverage is a problem, you can always buy a Range Extender, alternatively look at PowerLine Home Plugs:

Firstly, if the router has a detachable antenna, change it to a higher gain antenna which match your router. This is the cheapest option you have.

Secondly, buy a range booster, best if it comes from the same brand with your router for easy installation.

Lastly, try to browse the RangeBooster N products from DLINK, they have father coverage than common wireless router.
