I am connected to the internet through a router. When I connect to it, it says "not connected" but I actually am connected. I have internet and everything works fine. Why is it doing this?

I would venture a guess that you are monitoring the wrong (not connected) connection. Bryan
is there any way i con post screenshots on here? i'm looking at the right connection. it says "not connected" next to it, but underneath it it says i AM connected.
I had exactly the same problem after trying to implement WPA without success and reverting to WEP. The problem seemed to be with XP, not the router. I solved the problem by renaming my connection on the router, which forced XP to create a new connection. Now works fine and always says I'm connected. Great with computers how you follow all the instructions and it still doesn't work.
start, run %SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc /s then select Wireless Zero configuration then select Stop
