Wireless network problem....weird

I currently have a wireless network here at home connected to a sattelite internet connection (512k) anyways so far so good but ive got a problem so if u could help me that would be great :

whenever i play a dvd on my computer wether its on intervideo win dvd , jet audio , or windows media player 10 the connection always drops !!
i have no idea what a dvd has to do with a wireless lan connection ? anyone know ?
btw im on a laptop....

try this,

turn of your wirelss internet, then run any of the programs stated above... once they are running, turn on ur internet cxn...

tell me what happens....

Well i tried what you did sam.
I turned off the wifi then i played a dvd and turned on the wifi the internet was then connected for about 1-2 minutes before i got the same message "wireless connection unavailable"
