Ok ive been having endless amounts of problems trying to create a wireless network in my home and im hoping someone can help!

My setup is different to most so here goes :

I am currently with Virgin Media and the only way I can connect to the internet is via a USB Speedtouch Modem as Cable modems are not an option for the area I live in so...

I am using a D-Link DI-614+ router in the hope to allow my laptop to connect to the internet wirelessly. I phoned D-Link tech support and they said as I use a USB modem it was not possible to acheive my goal, this is not true tho as I have managed it before!

I have an ethernet cable coming from port 1 of the router to my main computer, the IP address of the router is 192.168.0.10

On my laptop I have manually assigned the wireless to have an IP of

IP: 192.168.0.100
Subnet : 255.255.255.0
Default : 192.168.0.11

I have assinged my desktop pc (host) Local Area Connection to :

IP: 192.168.0.11
Subnet : 255.255.255.0
Default : 192.168.0.10

On my laptop I am able to access all shared folders on my host PC and I can even see in Network Connections that I am connected to "Speedtouch Connection on Machine-IG......" but when I try to access the net it comes back with page cannot be displayed or server not found depending on whether I use Firefox or IE.

I really am stumped and need help!!

Ive attached am image of my laptop settings

Change the default gateway to 192.168.0.10 and you will be able to access the Internet.

all routers come with the default ip address as 192.168.1.1
the modem will be 192.168.0.1
the router will assign the lan numbers to each computer when you select get dns automatically. the wireless computers will need to have an ssid network setup.
one can access the router, and setup the wireless ssid there, then run wireless network setup on each wireless computer.

Ive tried changing the default gateway to 192.168.0.10 before but to no avail, I could still see that I was connected to "Speedtouch" but could not access the internet.

You have no DNS Servers assigned in this screen shot. Make your DNS servers either the IP addresses of your ISP DNS Servers, or the IP address of your router.

The IP address of your default gateway should definitely be the IP address of your router. Make that change, add your DNS addresses, and try again.
