i want to make a network between these two computers so that i can access and transfer files from one computer to another.. can anyone help please.. i tried several ways but none of them works..in my network connections, this one says network cable unplugged!
Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated ControllerNEELESH

Are you referring to that message on the laptop? Of course its disconnected. You are using wireless. It's best to disable the interface in device manager since its your wired connection not your wireless.
No reason you can't do file sharing between your wired and wireless connections.
go to help and support off the start menu and lookup networking wizard. Follow the instuctions for creating the network.
Knowing the correct answer and giving a correct answer, are two different things

As long as both PC/labtop can access Internet, either through wire or wireless, both can share file and ping each other.
There are 2 types of file sharing in XP pro. Check out which one you plan to use.
Simple file sharing(without password)
http://www.home-network-help.com/fi...Share file with user/group permissions
http://www.home-network-help.com/sh...Don't forget to enable file/printer sharing on network card's TCP/IP setting also...
Hope this info helps..
