A friend has a new desktop PC that will have Windows MultiMedia Center installed on it and would like to network to a laptop made by Apple. Sorry I don't know which Apple it is but it is I'm sure a fast machine with all the bells and whistles. He wants me to help him set up a network in his home between these two computers. What are the main issues when networking PC and Apple? He is having cable connection for internet. I assume the cable will go through the wireless router so each Network card can access the internet. Can you give me a link to find out what I need to know to connect these computers via the wireless network? Thanks for any help.

You should not have any problem on sharing internet connection or sharing file using ftp but can not add to network share folder directly just because those 2 difference file system.

As with nice guy you shouldn't have much of problem sharing the internet. Howerver sharing files amongst each other is possible regardless of file systems. You can share files through a web browser. Web browsers are not OS dependant....they can access any platform.(hence the linux servers on the web constantly being requested by microsoft machines). Because you are using a browser for filesharing you may want to put a fixed IP address in both your machines so you can find each other all the time...Auto DHCP will constantly change your IP address's and it will be a pain. Once your both connected to the LAN try pinging each other..once you have that happening you should be able to fileshare happily whith the right file permissions on each system.

your url should start with the machine you want ot access - ip address.
