Hello, when i type in the serial number which is the password for our wireless access, i get a error saying the network password needs to be 40bits or 104bits depending on your network configuration etc.. How would i change the password bits for that password to work?

Open the web interface of the router. It could be http://192.168.1.1

do a ipconfig at a cmd prompt
Is this .254 ip listed as gateway? If not, there is your issue.
You are not connected to your router.

Othewise check your firewall and host file settings

I went into command prompt and typed that in and

auto configuration IP address has numbers and subnet mask, the numbers are not the same..

Default Gateway has no numbers.. I did a ipconfig/renew and said unable to contact your DHCP server. Request time out

The router does work if i find a unsecure hotspot around the neighborhood

then you aren't using dhcp from the router but are doing a static assignment.
