wireless network dropping for one laptop

Compaq laptop / V3000t
July 28, 2010 at 21:45:26
Specs: Windows XP, 2gb
I have 3 wired desktops, 3 wireless laptops, and 2 wireless netbooks. They all connect to the internet flawlessly except the wireless compaq v3000t laptop which keeps droping its connection. I tried replacing the built in adaptor with a usb adaptor but it didn't solve the problem. Any suggestions?

I would try a wireless PCMCIA interface on the laptop. Make sure you disconnect the USB adapter and disable the onboard before testing.

Thanks for the reply.

This laptop does not have a PCMCIA slot. I did try windows XP repair program (which I assume does the same thing as opening a DOS prompt and using the 'ipconfig' command).

Also, I did disable the built in wireless adaptor when I tried the USB adaptor.
