I have a really irritating problem with my wireless linksys adapter,it keeps disconnecting,what could be the problem? do i need to change the device?

Constant disconnection is usually caused by outside interference. Digital cordless phones and microwave ovens are often the culprit as well as another wireless network in close proximity.
Go into the wireless configuration and change the channel the Wireless router uses.

Upgrade the wireless adapter driver by getting the latest driver from this Linksys website, see whether it helps..
