I have a really irritating problem with my wireless linksys adapter,it keeps disconnecting,what could be the problem? do i need to change the device?

Constant disconnection is usually caused by outside interference. Digital cordless phones and microwave ovens are often the culprit as well as another wireless network in close proximity.

Go into the wireless configuration and change the channel the Wireless router uses.

Upgrade the wireless adapter driver by getting the latest driver from this Linksys website, see whether it helps..

Also you need to know the external factors that can affect the wireless network signal and speed, so that can avoid them and improve your wireless network performance.

To better diagnose the issue, can you answer the following:

Do you have more than one wireless device? Are they all disconnecting at the same time, or is it just isolated to one?

Do you have any wired connections to your router? Are those disconnecting?

The 2 suggestions above were good, and I'd also upgrade the router's firmware.
