Comment: I need help. I have a wireless network (a Centrino notebook, a desktop computer, and a Linksys Router). Everything is working out fine until I upgraded my notebook's OS from Windows XP Home Edition to Window XP Professional Ed. After upgrading, I cannot connect to the network anymore, when I click on the Wireless Network Connection icon, everything is disabled, the only button I can click on is the CANCEL button. What am I doing wrong? Please.. i need help..

Reply: (edit)Try disabling the "Wireless zero configuration" service (if you are not familiar with the services snap-in, go to start, then run, and enter services.msc in the new box. Once you stop that service, see if you get any added configuration options.

Reply: (edit)Please answer the following: 1. Do the settings of your wireless NIC, ( in your XP Pro PC) match those of the wireless router's? i.e. WEP Key, SSID, Cahnnel, etc...? 2. Have you upgraded your wirless NIC's firmware since the upgrade to XP Pro? 3. Checked device manager to confirm there are no probems with your wireless NIC? 4. Has the XP Pro PC been joined to the same worgroup/domain as the other PCs on your LAN? Let me know, and I'll let you know!
