Hi, I just reinstall windows Home XP SP2 today on my friends PC and now he's trying to get back onto his Wireless Network, the thing is that it's not letting him back on, he install the drivers and it's working and is showing him his wireless network but he says it wont let him connect to it and from what he told me that there is no password on it, he just can't connect to it. Now he had this tech work on it and he said that the tech locked him Wireless Network so no one else could get on it, So does he need to contact his tech and find out what he did or is there someway that we can get on. Thanks!

the Tech most likely put key on his wireless network so, whenever someone connects for the first time, they need that key or password to connect. He should probably contact the Tech to see what type of a key they used (WEP or WPA-PSK) and what they key is. Otherwise, your friend could just press the reset button on the back of the router and reset everything back to default although then, your friend is going to have to reprogram the router and set up the ISP settings again if he wants, to set the key again.

or if you have a computer directly connected to the router via a cable, you can log in (if you know the password) and get the WEP key yourself...but most likely calling the guy would do. just make sure you right it down just in case you need it in the future.
