Basically, two laptops in the house, both with wireless cards, connected to a Sitecom MimoXR wireless router. One laptop is in the same room, the other is on a different floor. The one downstairs works fine untill i switch the one closer to the router on. Then the laptop downstairs either totally loses connection and doesnt even see the wireless network or the connection becomes insufferably slow. Is there anything I can do to help this ? Both PCs Are WXP Pro SP2.

Correction on that. The one downstairs only appears to be affected when the laptop closer to the router has any internet activity, like loading a page, or downloading something.

sounds like you need to add a repeater to your wireless network. Look at this one by linksys:

Are both wireless nics the same ? Are they both "B" or both "G" nics . If they are different then that can cause some wierd things to happen as the wap will downgrade the transmissions to "B" transmission rates from "G" if a "B" nic comes on the air .
