Wireless link won't stay connected

I have a laptop running XP with a Linksys WPC11 network card and a WAP11 access node which is connected through a router to cable modem. Two other PCs on the network as well. The problem I'm having is that the wireless won't stay connected even though signal strength and quality are good. When the link drops out, I have a very hard time reestablishing it. Sometimes, even a reboot won't work. Running same setup under ME never caused this problem.

Here, here. I have the same situation. I upgraded my IBM ThinkPad 600E from 98SE to XP. With 98SE my connectivity always worked, with XP the link drops all the time. What gives? The only changes were software: 98SE to XP and the LinkSys drivers to the version with XP support.
