Hi,
I am trying to connect a new DELL laptop (WinXP Pro SP2) to an existing
cabled network. The network is set up as follows:Server: Fedora Core 1
2 x WinXP Pro: using cable (CAT5)
1 x WinXP Pro: using wireless
1x laptop WinXPPro : using wirelessThe new laptop (Dell latitude 505) connects to all shares if using a cable
but not via wireless. It can only connect to the other laptop through the
wireless connection. I have copied all settings from the other laptop to
the new one but it still refuses to connect!does anone have any ideas here?

Can you ping all computers by hostname and ip addresses?
When all the land is in ruin, and burnination has forsaken the countryside, only one guy will remain. My money is on....
TROOOOOOGDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!

I can pin all machines on the network with the cable plugged in, but only the wireless laptop with the wireless connection

Wireless cards can only connect to 1 piece of hardware at a time. To give you an example, if I want 1 computer to access a wireless projector and a wireless Access Point, then I will need to install 2 wireless cards in that 1 computer, 1 to talk to the projector, 1 to talk to the Access Point. Also make sure that everyone is using the same SSID and WEP key, (if encrypted), check to see if the laptops are connecting Ad-Hoc or not.
Hope this helps.

I didn't see a wireless access point or router mentioned, so if there is not one, you will need to get one if you want all your computers to talk together. If you do have a wireless router or access point, make sure all wireless computers are connecting to that wirless router or access point and not to each other.
