since moving house, my wireless laptop will not connect to net. other p.c wired to d-link router is online and laptop settings apear to have strong connection signal. when trying to enable this connection from laptop it wont let me connect. Can something in the router settings have changed since we moved having still the same broadband provider??

Check whether the MAC-address filter is enabled in the router. If so, check whether your laptops MAC-address is in the list of allowed addresses.

use pc wired directly and go into router setup page, disable wireless...reboot..
now go into router setup page and setup wireless stuff, exit when done, connect laptop and start from there...

You should go to router's configuration page, and check the wireless network setting (SSID, encryption, DHCP, etc) again and make sure it's correct. After that test from computer again. If still cannot connect to wireless network, check here to troubleshoot more.
