hi all..
i have a senior project which is:
Wireless LAN performance models using mathematical and/or simulation techniques including web based simulations and applets will be analyzed and developed.
how can i start this project?? what are some problems in the wireless LAN?

Is the project supposed to be in the form of a report or are you supposed to setup an actuall network?

hi don2006..
thanks for ur response.. actually we will not setup a network.. we have just use simulation tool like IT GURU to run simulations in wireless LAN..

I assume that by wireless Lan models, you're refering to modelling the behaviour/ performance of wireless networks? If so, I'd suggest the following areas: Power vs. range (is it linear?) Overlap of channels (signal degradation?) Mesh networking (read up on it!) and take a look at backhaul. A mesh network can be modelled/ simulated in a lab. Backhaul is a definate issue here as it's a bottleneck. Take a look at what Intel have een producing- into the wimax kit.
