wireless is working but modem isn't

Now, this is my first time on this website, and i don't know much about pcs. So, if i haven't specified any info enough, please let me know.
Here's my problem:
Our main pc we used to connect our wireless router(Netgear) is a gateway that uses windows vista. We have another pc that my dad uses, and my laptop, that connect through wireless. Whats weird is, my dad's pc and my laptop can connect to the internet just fine. But our main pc cannot connect. And when I ask for it to diagnose the problem it says there isn't any problem. I've tried disconnecting the wireless and just using the modem. But no matter which of the ethernet cables i use(i have two), the ethernet light doesn't show up. Though it will show up for the wireless.
Summary: This one has me stumped. I have a home network, with a Motorola cable modem, a Belkin Pre-N router, three computers attached via LAN cable, two attached via wireless. Tonight, one of the computers...
