Hello,
I had posted this on the XP forum last week. Received some real good advice and help but my network is still not working. Maybe the network forum can take a stab at this.
I have 4 computers connected with a linksys router. 2 boxes run W2K connected w/cat5, 1 box Win98 cat5 and 1 (laptop) XP pro w/wireless card. All computers share cable internet through a linksys router.
I cant seem to get the xp machine to connect to the network.
The w2k stations work fine (sharing file and printers) and the name of the xp computer shows up in the network places' "computers near me". The win98 can see and share with w2k boxes. I can see the comuter name of the box running XP on the network but can not connect with it. I cant ping or find the xp machine from the w2k systems. Also cannot find any of the other computers from xp box. I have ran network wizard in xp and it keeps setting up a network bridge, in turn it disables my internet connection on the laptop box.
Is it not possible to network these systems or am I just missing something?

Yeah they can talk. Go to network connections. Wipe it all out especially the bridge that is not needed for home users. It is mean if you had like 2 or 3 cable lines.
Anyway, you will create the lan. You can leave it if it is there. Go to properties then there will be an identification tab. Make sure the workgrou name are the same as all other and that the computers have a unique name. Ignore that make a disk BS. Give it a shot!
