Specs: Windows XP sp3
I'm trying to setup ICS on two computers running XP. One is a PC plugged into Netgear wgr 614 v6 wireless router. The other is a Laptop with Netgear wg 511 v2 card that uses a usb connected cellphone as a modem. Can this internet connection be shared with the Laptop as the server? I have not had success setting this up. Thanks

most likely your problem with setup is that you have the other pc plugged into the router and the router is doing dhcp [providing a ip address].

Here is what you can do.

Disable dhcp on the router
Confirm the wireless card ip is not in the 192.168.0.x ip range [or ICS will not work]
Connect both the laptop nic and the pc wired to the router.
Engage ICS between wireless card and wired nic
PC should be set to get ip autoassigned. [ICS will give it a ip]
Check your firewalls that they allow networking access

That should be there all is to it.

Thanks for the help, the wireless connection between my laptop and my router now works, Yipee!! I also discovered that one of the services was turned off under Advanced Settings, the "Incoming Connection VPN (PPTP)". Don't know how that happened but it had me going in circles, sure made it impossible to get connected. Again thanks for your help.
